Antique French 14 Foot Aubusson Tapestry Wool French Countryside Animals Unique
Because of my love of antique fabrics, I have purchased many fabrics, tapestries and rugs. This one is fabulous and came from a wonderful old estate in Castle Combe, England. I don't know the age other then it is very old and was brought to the United States in the early 1900's. At 14' long it was very hard to photograph. I have had many tapestries but never one this long. The sce...ne is a French countryside and each section is another part of the story, every time I look at it, I see something different or something I missed. The border is incredible. There are many different animals and the colors are still vibrant. This piece was used in a long hallway and away from direct sunlight. It has a heavy fabric back and the hanging loops are reinforced with metal. This is such a beautiful tapestry and is a great statement piece. I put it on a table for 12 and it still goes over both ends. The best was to photograph on a floor and take photos of the different sections. Any questions, please email.
