This is a very unique Koa Isshin sword,... because it's the only one I've ever seen with a wavy temper line.
You can do an internet search and see that all other versions of this sword have a straight temper line. Based on the rare temper line and high quality shirosaya, I was told that this sword was most likely made for the 1944 sword exhibition at the Yasukuni Shrine.
The condition of the sword is excellent, as shown by the photos. There are no chips, bends, or cracks, and the cutting edge measures about 26.25". The blade is also ubu-ha and it comes with a striped copper habaki.
This auction starts at a low price of only $300, so here's your chance to own a one-of-a-kind Koa Isshin Mantetsu sword. I will ship overseas to most countries, but buyers are responsible for checking that it is legal to ship swords to their country. Overseas buyers should also email me for a shipping quote before bidding. I will not ship to China, Hong Kong, or Russia. Payment is required within 3 days from the end of the auction.
