Thebody is clothed in a breechcloth and the naval is represented as a staringeye. The often startling and grotesqueimagery depicted on this classic Stirrup Pots is an excellent example of theNazca culture. Thes...e vessels are evenmore important when considering these cultures were without writing and usedthese vessels to share their ideas, history, and religious practices. The stories a single pot could tell would beamazing to hear.Nazca potteryhas always been a personal favorite because of the elaborate design elements, the narration, and the widest use of color range used in ancient Americaspottery. Almost as an homage to theirpredecessors’ culture, we see techniques and design elements influencing the Nazcaculture and can furthermore see Nazca influence in their successors culture.ApproximateMeasurements: 5.25" height x 5" wide x 5" deep. Condition: Conditionis excellent. One chip along the edge ofthe bridge handle and expected pock marks. No appearance of cracks and or repairs.
