This is an antique French souvenir gilt metal dinner / table / counter bell which stands 5 inches high; measures 3 1/2 inches at the base and it dates to around 1890 - 1900. This table bell has a circular alabaster base and the bell itself is enclosed in an elaborate gilt metal open work frame with three different oval photographic views of Paris (under glass) around the middle with bunches of grapes and a flower between each. The top of the ta...ble bell has a winged dove perched on a hinged branch which, when lifted and dropped, rings the hidden bell with a loud and clear sound. The condition is good with no splits, cracks, damage or restoration and the spring mechanism which operates the bell is in good working order. There are some light signs of wear as is to be expected through age and use but nothing too serious or detracts in any way. A clean will be in order but I will leave this to the buyer.
