If there is any question, ...please don't hesitate to email us and ask!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Made in Southbridge, Massachusetts by Dexter, this very solid old carbon steel skinning knife is one of the best friends any professional chef or butcher ever had. It's over fifty years old but found here in remarkably well-preserved condition having NEVER been used, VERY sharp from the factory and bearing one of Dexter's trademark beechwood handles which are naturally slip-resistant under even the wettest or most slimy condition. It also has the addition of another Dexter trademark, the VERY handy thumb-rest at clips onto the top of its blade, stamped with the Dexter name, as you can see in the photos. No hunter would hesitate to take this into the field for dressing game, no rancher wouldn't profit using it to dress livestock. This is not a common design by Dexter, but a very welcome one, indeed. Known worldwide as makers of some of the best butcher's cutlery every produced, I like to think of Dexter as the shadow competitor of Russell's Green River Works (a competitor originally, later acquired by Dexter), and the quality found in this knife will substantiate that claim. Its carbon steel blade is riveted over a gorgeous old-growth beechwood handle, warm to the touch and easy on the eyes. With a slightly upswept point to its carbon steel blade, it's an exceptional all-purpose design, though its original purpose is for skinning and dressing livestock and game. If you're someone who slaughters their own livestock or a hunter who butchers their own game, you know the value of a knife like this. And if you're a dedicated amateur or professional chef with an eye for the right tool for the right job, you know that a knife like this can serve a multitude of useful functions in the kitchen, from trusted heavy-duty butchery, to more mundane tasks like slicing meats and boning poultry into parts. Many chefs use these as the ULTIMATE sandwich knife and with good reason. Many wise campers and outdoorspeople simply like to have one around in the tackle-box for who knows what. International packages cannot be insured and we cannot be held responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit (we pack very well, but shipping overseas is strictly at buyer's risk). IMPORTANT: After TWELVE YEARS of doing everything we could to hold the line on int'l. shipping costs, we have taken our LAST loss, so we've been forced to implement a new policy in which Shipping costs on ANY international parcel sold for over $75 will now include a required $13.65 Registered Mail fee in order to make your purchase trackable.
