It was the first patented steel shaft golf club ever produced and sold and began the transition of golf club history from wood shafts to metal starting in 1918! This club was produced for only 2 years by Spalding. The club shaft is made of a perforated hollow steel that got its name because when it was swung it would indeed whistle.
