This is a phenomenal early 19th century, Circa 1820 American Empire Era oil on canvas portrait painting of a distinguished-looking Young Man in Period attire. Overall a nice-looking 160 + year old oil painting that looks to have been restored with wa...x onto a newer canvas backing for stability and repairs over the years. There is heavy crazing throughout which turns to heavier crazing around the edges with light paint loss around the sides.
