Pictured is a fairly nice Original circa 1913 Southern Railway Advertising Poster / Broadside for a Mountain Excursion to Western North Carolina on Thursday, July 10th, 1913. The poster lists the Round ...Trip Fares from Atlanta, Columbus, Flovilla, Griffin, Jackson, Macon and Woodbury to Asheville NC, Black Mountain, Brevard, Hendersonville, Hot Springs, Lake Toxaway, Ridgecrest, Saluda, Tryon, and Waynesville North Carolina. There is a Special Train and Regular Train available, and the Ticket Agents are listed on the bottom of the poster. The poster measures approx. 17" x 7 3/8". It has some foxing. I have tested it with a black light and it does not fluoresce like modern paper does. The poster has some tears at the top and someone at some point stuck tape to it. This was folded in a box of paper at a old estate in the Atlanta area. The last photo is of a 1913 newspaper advertisement that I found on line that is advertising the same trip. This is for reference only. I will send it folded as it already is creased in the center.
