1936 Frank Dorn Map Of Beijing Or Peking China
Item History & Price
The map is framed under glass that measures 40x30 inches and weighs about 23 pounds. I can also take
the map out of the frame and it would cost much less to ship. I will let the buyer decide on what he or she would like to do with the shipping.
Here is what is written on the bottom of the map:
A map and history of Peiping; formerly known as Peking; capital of Provinces , princedoms and kingdoms since 1121 B.C.; in 1264 A.D. The capital of the Mongol Empire of Kublai Khan; made the capital of the Ming Empire and built as it is today by Yung Lo in 1421; continued as the capital of the Chinese Empire through the Ming and Ching Dynasties; and now a city which will live long in a memory of a man as one of the greatest the world as ever known. Completed on the Fifth day of February in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and thirty six.
