Handcrafted Dip Pen Case/Set:Serial No. S20190020303BXFYSet Details:
The 210 different nibs included within this set are in new and unused, mint to near-mint condition; they are of mixed age, from brand new to antique in manufacture dates (the oldest are from circa 1889). The flexibility of the nibs in this set range from Very Flexible to Very Stiff, and the point range is from Very Fine to 15 mm broad point/plakat. The nibs included within this set will provide for almost all aspects of art and calligraphy work that can be done with dip pens.
The wooden case that houses this set is completely handmade within my shop from materials of exceptional quality, and lasting composition. The lid material is solid Eastern Red Cedar framing a designer fabric of a cotton, woven geometric print that has been stretched over and glued to a wood paneling, and then lacquered and waxed to resist dust, dirt, and moisture; the interior binding fabric is a Merlot colored military grade, 1000D Nylon Cordura; the black elastic banding used to hold the nibs in place is a commercial grade elastic; the frame of this case is trimmed in solid Walnut and Cherry accent woods, and it has been lacquered with my hand crafted lacquer in a clear French Polish application after being cut, assembled, and finished in my shop; all of the hardware is solid brass.
The outer dimensions of the set when closed are approximately 10 inches (25.4 cm) deep x 10.5" (26.67 cm) wide x 2" (5.08 cm) high. This set was designed to be compact and highly portable, as well as durable.
