This is for a single roll of gorgeous unused French vintage 1960s/70s wallpaper. In a wonderful burgundy and golden yellow floral baroque damask. It will give a wonderful hint of opulent French regency wherever you use it.
I recently had the pleasure of picking the house of an old French cottage which used to belong to a painter and decorator. He worked in this trade from 1948-1984 and in ...the attic I found two huge boxes of odd spare rolls of various wallpaper's from this period. I bought the lot and am now in the process of listing nearly 70 rolls of vintage wallpaper.
The paper is of a thicker quality than you usually find in modern wallpaper. It will have been printed on a ancient heliographic printing machine with different rollers for each colour.
In very good condition for its age, this roll is not sealed and has been stored in an attic for decades. The start of the roll is a little tatty but it is mostly suitable for use, you just may need to waste the first couple of inches. Please see all photos and remember it is around 50 years old.
I am also selling a matching roll in a green colourway in another listing. This other roll is shown in the last three photos of this listing but will not be included unless you purchase them both.
This is the only roll I have of this design so there will only be enough for a small feature wall or to use on furniture or other craft projects. There are companies now who will reproduce old wallpapers so if you really love it you can always have it re-made in as greater quantity as you need.
There are no measurements on the roll but it is standard size, just like other rolls I am selling, some of which do have measurements: 10.05 m x 53 cm (11 yards x 20½ inches). I find you get approx 4 full drops from each roll of paper, depending on the height of your wall of course and the length of the matching design.
