This beautiful ruby and gold brooch was brought from India in the late nineteenth century.It has been in my family since that time.This is an original tiger claw brooch, set in yellow gold with three rubies.Measures 4.5 cm x 2.3 cm from widest points. The large bar with the orbs is 3.76 cm.The brooch weighs 6 grams.Unmarked yellow gold , quite high grade.Beautiful design with bar and floral swirls. The rubies are similar sizes and have eight side facets. Clips look ok ...Pin appears to be gold and clips into place.The bar has a reddish look and could be gold or brass.Noticed at the rear there is some natural looking resin which secures the claw to the main metal body.No visible damage to the metal.
