This is a vintage early 20th Century Nassau lighter. It has a top loader mechanism designed to hold a square flint. This lighter is so old it predates the round flints we know today. It does have a red Ronson flint loaded and throws strong spark. The front is engraved AUTOMOBILE MUTUAL INSURANCE CO OF AMERICA, Banigan Bldg Providence RI. The company is now known as AMICA and still provides insurance today! The lighter is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition especially fo...r being over 110 years old. The plating is fantastic and shows wear on the hinge and fuel screw. The mechanics are tight and the lid pops open with a strong snap. There is a shallow ding on the front of the lid and tiny spots on the plating that don't detract from this great piece. I usually ship within 2-3 days of receiving payment.
