BLACK POWDER, SCRIMSHAW, COW HORN, 2ND AMENDMENT SCRIBED

This is a one of a kind white and brown colored, polished scrimshaw (cow) powder horn. The front of this horn has the inscription "AMERICAN FREEDOM, PROTECT OUR  2ND AMENDMENT".  Above the inscription is a colored Betsy Ross American Flag in front of a snow capped mountain scene . The reverse side is a Bald Eagle head with inscription  reading "IN GOD WE TRUST, USA". This horn has a slightcurve and can be worn on either side. Total length of the horn is 10“. This willh...old enough black powder for a day of shooting or hunting. This also has various designs at the base and tip. The base plug is made ofpolished wood, hand fitted and held in place with brass tacks. The base has athreaded wooden, removable plug for powder filling. The strap is made of brown leather with red and blue color border in the mid section that is 1” wide.The strap is adjustable out to 56“ long. The strap also has a leather lanyardthat is attached to the horn plug dispenser that is a fiddle key. This is afunctional horn to be used, but will look good for reenactments, a wall hangeror at primitive shoots or rendezvous. These horns are not mass produced butdone one at a time by hand. Each horn involves several stages of work that takeseveral days to finish. Each horn is dated and signed by the maker and no twohorns are alike. This one is horn #372.
