The Madenie deck was faithfully reproduced by Tarot de Marseille Heritage, from a deck in the Swiss National Museum in Zurich . Exquisite care was taken to recreate them as they appeared in 1709.
This is the second edition 2016 printing of the well-received first edition from 2014. Marseille Heritage has made some significant changes for this limited edition of 1, 500 copies. For this edition, the trace elements of other cards--artifacts of the printing process--which are impri...nted on some cards, have now been eliminated. The colors have been improved also. For example, there is more of a difference between the greens and the blues--more like how the cards appeared in 1709 as opposed to the museum specimen where the colors have darkened with age.
This deck is packaged in sturdy, matte-finish, 2 part telescoping cardboard box. There are two (one French, one English) hand-numbered informational cards inside. Also includes a reproduction of the original paper wrapper which was the packaging used in that time.
Card dimensions:2 9/16" x 4 13/16" x .018" 65 mm x 122 mm .48 mm
Condition description: This is a brand new, un-opened copy, with all items in mint, as-issued condition. Photos and scans were taken from a duplicate, opened deck, identical to the deck you will receive if you win this auction, except for the numbered card, shown for reference only.
