Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:467253 | Country/Region of Manufacture: United States |
Tribal Affiliation: Sioux (Lakota) | Origin: Central Plains |
This pair is made of native tanned hide (as far as I can see all or mostly buffalo) sewn with sinew and thread (repairs), with rawhide soles and only remnants of a cotton edge at the cuffs.
The moccasin uppers are completely beaded, sinew sewn in typical stunning classic Lakota designs in bead colors white, apple green, dark blue, ros...e-white-heart, and greasy yellow. Size of each of these moccasins is circa 10.5" x 4".The moccasins are in a POOR CONDITION: worn out in several places with tears and crude repairs. Missing beads and tinklers. The hide is soft though, not stiff at all, just worn out. Despite the condition, in my opinion still a GREAT pair that still displays very nicely!
