This speedo is in good condition, the can needs to be painted. The bezel has some light pitting. According to information on the BritBike forum, this speedo was original equipment on BSA Gold Stars, though I don't know which years. Dave was a Goldstar man so this makes perfect sense.

He bought his first BSA in 1967, a '64 Hornet. We still have it. He bought his first Goldstar in the late '70s. Thus began the obsession. He was #20 to join the BSA Owner's Club of Southern California and kept the subscription all his life. By the early '80s he entered his first bike show with a '57 Goldie. By the mid-late '80s he began restoring his '63 Rocket Goldstar. Over the years that bike won many shows, perfectionism pays off. Later on, he had the time to begin restoring his other bikes. Since then, his collection of BSAs has only grown, both bikes and parts (oh so many parts). There have been many bikes, many shows and so many wonderful people. Having a booth gave us entrance into the swap meet the night before it opened. Shopping by flashlight.... a regular occurrence and as much as we sold, we bought much more. I think it's time now to find new homes for all. It will take years to list everything we have. His collection honestly puts many shops to shame. It's is that extensive. If you're looking for a particular part you don't see listed, feel free to contact me. There really is a good chance we have it and would be happy to list it for you.
