Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Fabulous 1850s Sterling silver Coffee Pot, Coffeepot. This was made by Joseph Angell in London England. Joseph Angell is a very collectible Victorian Silversmith known for quality work. Fully hallmarked. It has the lion passant mark for Sterling Silver, Leopard mark for London, Queen Victoria head and the date letter cursive "R" for the date 1852. Also has a "JA" mark that was used by Joseph Angell. It is marked and was tested. Guaranteed ste...rling silver from the 1850s. Top quality piece. Great form. Incredible engraving on the body that is hard to picture. Has the Scottish Clan Crichton crest on one side with the words "God Send Grace" in a banner above a winged dragon. Nice pierced feet. This coffee pot is stunning in person. Antique. Over 150 years old. Very good condition for age. No major dents or repairs. Upon close inspection you may notice a few tiny pinpoint dings, wear, and light scratching typical for age and use. Beautifully engraved. Has Scottish Clan Crichton crest with a "God Save Grace" above a dragon. Some tarnish. Lid lower rim is slightly off round(can't see with naked eye) making it tight to close.Typical cracking on bone insulators. Nice hard to find 19th Century Sterling Silver Coffee Pot with Scottish Clan crest. Measures about 11" tall. Weighs about 865 grams.
