Authentic 1940's-50's Mexican biker ring. At the end of the Mexican Revolution, the peso was basically worthless. Mexican metalsmiths melted down the metal to make something more valuable, in this case rings. During the 1940's and 50's American motorcycle clubs discovered them on regular rides to border towns. For the cost of about five dollars, you could get your own Mexican souvenir ring that conveniently doubled as a legal brass knuckles. This ring is silver or nickle with bra...ss and copper. It's a little unusual in that the face of the ring is oval where most of these are rectangular. Copper skull and crossbones with a brass base. Copper fleur de lis shields at the shoulders. The ring is size 9. The face measures 7/8" north to south and 5/8" east to west. Weighs 15.5 grams. Slightly out of round and a little worn but the wear and patina add character and you really do not want your biker ring to look like it just came from Walmart. In great "as found" condition from a central Iowa estate. I just knocked some of the road grit off of it and took the photos. Please examine the photos for detail and email with questions. Thanks for looking!
