Large original Studebaker wheel logo enamel radiator badge emblem insignia nameplate logo. The Studebaker was built from 1902 to 1964 in South Bend, IN. Online research indicates this type of emblem was used on 1916 to 1923 cars but I do not know exact year, model or application for this example. Badges like these were made using the champleve or guilloche process of heat bonding melted glass to a copper base which was then plated. 2 7/8" ...;wide by 2 1/4" high , black, blue-gray and white enamel with nickel plating. No makers mark visible. Fair to good used condition, no cracks but a heavy bend / dent with scratches on right side. Enamel is heavily damaged around the bend but very nice otherwise. The original plating shows some wear, the mounting cup is intact but bent. Great for your collection, use as is on a driver, or could be restored.
