Please Read Description Details...I noted a lot of information on this unique Early Cat. Please feel free to ask questions...! 👍😺 Adorable and Rare - it’s fair to say, Very Rare - Early Miniature Steiff German Mohair Jointed Tabby Cat or Kitten. Some folks have reached out and think she’s an Early Rare German Hermann Cat. Although they were a quality G...erman manufacturer, I really don’t think she’s a Hermann. Please Bid on what you see and only bid because you love this Early, Very Unique, and Very Adorable Cat..! What make this little girl so unique, is her diminutive, very small size and the fact that She has Jointed Legs for this tiny example. I never saw a Small Early Standing Steiff Cat of this Tiny Size with Jointed Legs and a Jointed Head = they are typically ‘non-jointed’. The larger cats yes, they have Jointed Legs and Heads = But not the smaller ones. NOTE: She has a Jointed Head, and a straight ‘UP’ /up-right Tail = just like a Kitten. Every Standing Steiff Cat variation that I’ve encountered has a tail sticking straight out/flat/horizontal.Although I’m calling her a Cat, she looks more like a Kitten, She has an adorable very well-done ‘baby’ face with Green Glass Eyes, a Red Stitched Twisted Thread Nose and Mouth, 2 Very Long Thin Filament Whiskers on her facing right side that curve downward and are long = to her neck. Also this is by far, the cutest Early Steiff German Cat I have ever seen...! Go online and Google..!NOTE: * She’s A Tabby Cat with Original Painted stripes on the Early ‘burlap’ fabric and what appears to be ‘white’ Mohair. Her Mohair is Lighter in Color than the Fabric. The photos were taken in sunlight and give her a golden glow = her colors are more neutral as shown in 1 or two of the pics.* She is very firmly stuffed with Early Finely Shredded Wood Wool which is not straw. * She is constructed and Jointed with Tiny Metal Rods. These Metal Pins/Rods go straight thru her legs, thru her body (inside)and connect to the leg on the opposite side. Thus the 2 Front Legs move in unison (together) and the 2 back legs move in unison (together) = see photos. * Larger Early Steiff Cats have this feature, I’ve never seen it done on a Cat of this size. Google the internet, and you’ll see what I’m referring to.* This is a very Early feature, and from what I understand = unique to Steiff. Note: This is NOT a repair, they are original. Old metal Bell around her neck, may be Original. The ribbon looks to be a older replacement.MEASUREMENTS:* Her Body/Torso is a mere 3” inches.* Her legs are 2” Inches.* Overall she is 4 3/8” Inches Long x 4 3/8” Inches Tall to the Tip of her Tail. CONDITION: Overall Original, Untouched Excellent condition for her age. Wear to her Mohair, No repairs. Legs, Head, Body, and Tail all firmly stuffed. Original glass Eyes. Original stitching to her face. Filament whiskers on her right side only. No funny smells, clean dry environment.NOTE: Regarding Scale in the photos = She’s posing on an old miniature chair and next to an Old spool of twine. A photo of this cat (not the same exact cat) is shown on pages 108, 109 of the Following Book ‘Bing Bears and Toys’ by Ken Yenke who is an expert on Bing Animals, Items and Bears. In the book he notes the tiny cat, which is photographed and described = is noted as being Very Rare, Value $1, 500. Bing was also a German Manufacturer, competed very Early with Steiff and made high quality Bears and Animals = including Cats = to Compete with Steiff. Ironically Bing Items can be even more valuable than some Steiff Comparables = for both fine quality, and scarcity..AND So there you have it...Mystery Solved..! And again, I have not seen another = ever = until now in this book. I have a low reserve = if she doesn’t sell, she will NOT be relisted. As shown in the book by expert Ken Yenke ‘Bing Bears and Toys’, Pages 108, 109. Noted to be approximately Circa 1910, estimated value $1, 500. I saw the books photos and she’s the very rare, elusive, tiny and multi-Jointed Bing Mohair Striped Tabby Cat with Jointed Legs, with special metal Pins, and a Jointed Head. Mystery solved!
