He used a soft blue and strong red and polished this ...beautiful (laminated) cedar. As always, very clean carving and painting. Signed and dated at the back, carved in the front, made and prepared for wall hanging, hanger already attached.Measurements: 13" x 4 1/2" x 1/2" (33 x 11.5 x 2 cm)The Artist: Doug (Bear) Horne is a member of the Coast Salish FirstNation, originating from Vancouver Island,  British Columbia’s Pacific Northwest. He comes from the large and worldwide known LaFortuneFamily and trained with his father Doug Lafortune as well as with PerryLafortune. His uncle, Francis Horne, also taught him quite a lot. He createswork with traditional Salish crests and motifs, but he is especially interestedin experimenting with unconventional forms and unique symbols.
