1940s Rare Sewing Pattern McCall 762 Child’s Sun Suit Hooded Coat Dog Transfer 1
Item History & Price
Genuine vintage 1940’s McCall’s sewing pattern # 762 in a size 1. This is for a Child’s Sun Suit and Hooded Coat with a Puppy Transfer included.
The ONLY #762 I’ve found still in existence. Notice the number only has 3 digits. Also, notice the name is still “McCall”. The “apostrophe s” didn’t appear until around the 1960’s. Envelope says “Copyright 1940”
Envelope reads: “A companion coat for the sun suit comes in handy when... cool breezes blow. Line it with the suit material and it makes a darling ensemble in print and plain cottons. The pup trim is for outline embroidery or appliqué.”
Envelope shows edge wear and some natural yellowing, as expected for it’s age. See actual photo. Pattern is cut, used once and neatly returned to envelope with original instructions.
Currently, in a smoke-free & pet-free home.
