We got it 30 years ago for our son. After he out-grew it we've kept it since thenon a shelf unused and well protected in a smoke-free house. It's in nearly mint condition, with no nicksor flaws of any kind. It still has therubber stopper in the base. Alsoembossed on the base is "Twentieth Century Fox, Star Wars FilmCorporation, 1977, copyright 1977, U.S.A."Except in size, it's identical in form to its big brother R2D2, which is a cookie jar and not a piggy bank ...and is 13 inches tall. It's easy to confuse the two. Both are heavy ceramic in the same pattern.
