Offered is a rarely seen and finely preserved 16cm 3D example of  a cut and polished straight orthocone shell of Orthoceras-type, from limestone of Middle Ordovician age, Gillbergia, northwest Olend, Sweden.Complete with detail of about 35 successively smaller living chambers and the central septum intact, the living chambers have infilled with calcite crystals to produce an aesthetically displayable specimen. Matrix approx. 17.5cm X 2cm X 1.5cm.No reserve for such a beautiful and... unusual item............
