Additional Interesting Details - (excerpted from my recent article) "Christian LaCroix is a French Couture Fashion Designer who made a name for himself by designing haute couture in the nineties that some say was over the top. At the time fashion was bold, dramatic and colorful and LaCroix's clothing and accessories appealed to many women keen to wear his exotic and unique designs. The jewelry that accompanied the collections was also over the top and that's why you find many of the vintage 90's pieces to be big and bold. They are considered "statement" designs. They are not for the faint of heart. These jewels need to be worn by women with a passion for high fashion jewelry. LaCroix was originally from Arles, France so many of his jewelry designs incorporate themes from his Catholic home town - passionate Hearts that represent love, Crosses that represent Faith (and that are a play on his own name), Wheat bundles which represent growth, Bursting suns that represent Hope along with textures that represented couture fabrications (lace, embroidery, knotting etc.). One cannot find these designs anymore as they are no longer produced!" Gillian
