Re-knownduck and turkey call expert, HOWARD HARLAN, in his book – TURKEY CALLS – ANENDURING AMERICAN FOLK ART (copyright 1994) – discusses the ELAM FISHER’STONGUE PINCHER DUCK CALL as being one of the early models influencing turkeycalls. Mr. Fisher was from Detroit, MIand patented his first model in 1870. Over the years, it has been re-styled from all horn to a nickel horn belland rosewood or cocobolo wood. Some ofthese later models had a nickel band o...n the rosewood and others do not. Also discussed is the Charles Jordan duck callsimilar to the Fisher call starting in 1886.
Thisauction is for a vintage horn and wood ELAMFISHER style DUCK / CROW CALL Over theyears, I have seen some people call this type of call as a duck call, whileothers have called them crow calls. Thecall is in used condition with two small chips edge of the horn (see picture).
