1997-98 Michael Jordan Fleer Thrill Seekers #7 BGS Authentic Altered - READ. I sent this in to BGS for grading and they deemed it to be altered without providing any additional information other than the pictured slip with “possible tampering” checked off. I reached out to Beckett for a more detailed explanation but wasn’t provided with any. Card is in great shape otherwise. My inquiry was escalated to the East Coast Sales Manager. He claims the card was deemed altered because of an "unnatural edge." He said it could be from trimming, being sanded down, or an unnatural edge resulting from the cutting process of the manufacturer (in this case Fleer). The last response I received: "Yes Fleer. However it’s the edges it could be sanded down that would make the edge be smooth than that have grooves or vice versus. Unfortunately we/all grading companies do not keep that detailed information for these instances."
