Offering here a "new" cylinder record. A "comedy" sketch by the Two Dark Knights, a popular comedy duo in the mid 'twenties.
This record was duplicated from an existing Edison Blue Amberol record. As such, any blemished, eccentricities, scratches, etc. that were on the original are duplicated on the original. Some of the bounce inherent i...n the original is compensated for in the moulding process, however some "bounce" is still present. Many of the original records not only are off-center but egg-shaped in cross section due to uneven shrinkage over the past century.
Please listen to the audio file or listent/watch the video of a copy playing acoustically on a vintage phonograph before bidding. The acoustics in the video are not the best but will give you a reasonably accurate representation of the sound quality you can expect. Tone will vary depending on what type of reproducer, rebuild, etc. The reproducer used in the video is a stock Edison Diamond "B" that has not been rebuilt.
Our new "plastic" records can be played with any Edison 4-minute reproducer, including the Diamond "C" used on Amberol 30/50/75.
Indestructible brand of reproducers should be avoided.
