About this Item: This is a Retro Chrome Plated Fancy Slim Pocket Lighter circa 1950s. It was made by Modern DeLuxe, which was was a upscale Japanese co...mpany that manufactured the highly collectable premium lighters for a variety of companies. This is the only Frito-Lay Advertising version I've seen. This will be a valued addition to your collection of Retro Lighters or Frito-Lay / New Era memorabelia. The Frito company purchased the New Era potato chip company back in the 1950s (before it merged with the HW Lay company to become Frito-Lay in 1961). New Era had four plants in the Midwest, including the Detroit plant at 5801 Grandy. The company’s logo was a black silhouette of a thin woman, her arm arched to her head seemingly reaching for chips. Her thinness seemed to imply that chips were not fattening. This is Incredible, like new condition. I don't believe it was ever used. It is being sold as a collectible and has not been tested for function. The mechanism is working fine, but no flint or fuel. I haven't tried to see if it will light up. I will take great care in safely packing your item. Conditions of Sale: 1) I only sell to customers in the United States and Canada 2) I only accept PayPal with a confirmed address for payment 3) I do not accept returns unless I made a mistake in accurately describing the item. So please contact me prior to bidding with any questions…I want to ensure that you know exactly what you are bidding on.
