Rare and unusual vintage art deco style porcelain Jester pin cushion doll by the excellent German maker, Fasold and Stauch.
This is a highly collectible half doll and is beautifully modeled with a very human-like face enclosed in a tricorn jester's hood. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and measures 2" in height. There is a mark on the underside, which is a very distinct "G" which is thought to be the country of origin, Germany.&nbs...p;This style of half doll or pincushion doll was originally introduced as a handle on a powder puff according to Volume I, Page 163 of Shona and Marc Lorrin's "The Half Doll" book.
