This is an original antique photo from September 1900. It shows four ARMSTRONG brothers, three of whom were Civil War veterans. The men lived in Wayne County, Ohio. In 1900, Gilbert S. ARMSTRONG (on the right) lived in Salt Creek Township, in Wayne County, with his wife and two daughters. Thomas J. ARMSTRONG (b. 1841) enlisted in August 1862, and served in the 19th Independent Battery, Ohio Light Artillery. In 1900, he was a farmer, and was also living in Salt Creek Township. William S.... ARMSTRONG (b. 1839) enlisted in May 1864, and served in the 166th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was also a farmer, and in 1900 was living in Salt Creek Township with his wife and two of their three children. Joseph ARMSTRONG (b. 1837) also served in the 19th Independent Battery, Ohio Light Artillery. He enlisted in August 1862, and became a Corporal in this regiment. In 1900, Joseph lived in Franklin Township, Wayne County, Ohio. He was a farmer, and was living with his wife and four children. The photo measures 10" x 12" in size, and I will ship it wrapped in thick paper, between two rigid sheets of cardboard so it will not bend.
