DVD containing high resolution scans ( 1200 dpi) produced from an original ww2 photo album, which belonged to RAF airframe fitter Kenneth Barnes 634053 . Kenneth served in the Middle East and North Africa between 1939-1945 . I believe he served with 73 and 267 squadrons .The album contains photos which he has taken ( not professional photos) , which is fairly rare with British WW2 albums, in active combat zones .There are the usual photos of places visited , ...uniform shots etc . But of special interest in this album are 21 photos taken by Barnes of Luftwaffe and Italian air force wrecks at Ganzala & Gambut in Libya dated 1942 ..planes include Me108, fiesler stork, Me110 , Stuka , a good number of Me 109f , Ju88 , ju 52 , Italian Macchi 200. There is also a very nice photo of a German Me109f in RAF markings ( this plane was was later destroyed at Heliopolis in summer of 1942 in a German raid) .Another 2 photos show a heinkel 111 , again with RAF markings . There is also a photo of Italian Macch 202 in RAF markings .2 photos show a crash of a rare Bristol Bombay troop plane ( looks like under -carriage collapsed ) . 6 photo show 73 squadron Hurricanes . There are 3 photos which show the burning of German captured vehicles ...this was done by the British who were in retreat because the Germans were advancing once more .I love viewing a good personal photo album , because they often tell a story and offer us insights . There is a photo of both his mother and father at the end of the album ..captions on reverse of photos says they married in 1919 , kenneth was born in 1920 . Sadly his mother died August 1927 and father died December 1927 ..Despite this tragic start to his life , evidence within the photos suggests Kenneth was a cheerful chap. Over 100 images in total ...in addition I have also added scans of the album pages with captions and scans of his Royal Air Force service and release book .A interesting collection of images .
