RARE Vintage L. G. B. 2016 Steam Locomotive W/ Tender Box W. Germany

For your consideration is a rather rare and unusual vintage 2016 Porter style US locomotive and tender. This engine is based on early porter locomotives used in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. It has an early non-smoking funnel stack. The tender is not powered although it does have outlets for an electrical harness to join the locomotive and tender. This model is not listed in any catalog but the photograph with the 2017 ID number in the 1977-78 catalog is actually a 2016. This ...is a “B”version since it has lighting sockets present at the rear of the tender. This locomotive was designed after a locomotive built in Germany and used for movies depicting the American west. Although this locomotive only approximates early United States Porter type locomotives it was built to appease the growing demand in the US for an American prototype locomotive. This 2016 was replaced by the 2017 Series in 1977.
The locomotive runs perfectly. The headlight on the engine lights up when it is going forward and the tail light on the tender ignites when it is going in reverse. The gold flag poles which mount on the cowcatcher are furnished as is a harness to connect the tender and locomotive. In addition there is a floor plate which goes between the tender and locomotive so the engineer and fireman can go back-and-forth safely. The condition is basically new, perhaps run a slight amount. The traction tire on the locomotive is almost new. Appropriate paperwork including instructions and an advertisement for the Depesche magazine are also included.
