(Lot: 01-16-24)You are purchasing an original authentic 1936 Gum, Inc. G-Men & Heroes of The Law, card #24 "A Knife Thrust In The Dark." I consider this card to be in good condition. (However, I am NOT a grader of cards - just a non-sports collector of vint...age pre-1970 cards!)Note: The photos shown do serve as a "visual description" for this card, so please look closely at all of the photos.This card DOES have corner wear, surface wear, and other "issues." (see photos)
This card is THE NUMBER 24 card of 168 from this highly collectible and sought after non-sports cards set from the early to mid 20th century. This was and still is a difficult set to assemble. Some card numbers, like #105 do NOT exist. The early collectors became very frustrated trying to collect all numbered cards when in fact some numbers were never produced. Additionally, cards numbered #28, #57, #88, #94 and #100 are very, very difficult to find, as are the forty-eight (48) "high numbered" cards - #201-451.
This card will make a great addition for your set building, or an excellent starter card if you are attempting to start your 1936-37 Gum "G-Men & Heroes of The Law" collection!
I have been collecting these classic collectible cards for many years and find they are a great source of historical account of what life was like in the early 20th century in the United States.
