SYP Teapot (Simple Yet Perfect)
SILVER LUSTRE
Here is a delightfully unusual example of the patented SYP (Simple Yet Perfect) teapot, cream pottery completely covered with silver lustre. It was made by Arthur Wood, Longport, England, sometime between 1909 and 1928. It is in the smaller, ~2-cup size: 5-1/2" high x 6" across including the spout.
Condition is remarkable -- no chips or cracks; slight wear to the silver where there are edges; some crazi...ng visible on the cream body. Maker's mark on the lip of the lid, which is NOT chipped or broken.
