This auction is for a large clear vintage apothecary jar or canister manufactured by L. E. Smith Glass in the "Moon and Stars" pattern. The jar has a ground glass lid and was made for use in homes, drug stores, general stores, etc. This would be great for display or use and clear jars are difficult to find in this pattern. The piece measures 11 3/4 inches tall with the lid on and the base is 5 3/4 inches in diameter. There are several bubbles and straw marks present which i...s common with old glass.
The jar is in good condition with no chips or cracks in the base or lid. The lid does not sit perfectly within the neck and there is a scuff on the exterior of the base above one of the stars. These minor imperfections do not affect the item's functionality and appear in my photos. Please view all of my photos as they are part of the description.
