Offered here for your bidding approval is this ever so lovely ca. 1900 antique German porcelain Dressel & Kister half doll! The lady in mob cap measures 4” tall from the top of her ruffled cap, to the lowest extension of her long, shapely arms. This particular example is made so that her graceful appendages extend further than the bottom of her waist, so clearly she was meant to be affixed to a pin cushion or other whimsical assembly for display. Her narrow unglazed bisque waistline ...ends with four sew holes all the way around. Inside her torso you will see the blue hand painted Dressel & Kister factory mark, which I believe was only in use from 1901 to 1902. The willowy lady is highly glazed and finely decorated, with tiny brush strokes in the gray hair caught up in her mob cap. Trimmed with a blue bow, the cap has ruffled pink edges. Her aristocratic features are enhanced with blushing in all the right places; cheeks, elbows, each perfectly formed finger, breasts, and even the hollow of her neck. She is in excellent condition and free from any damages. Perhaps the tiniest bit of paint wear on her back at the shoulder blades and on the raised blue bow, where she undoubtedly rested in storage for many years.
