Fresh from the remaining Estate of Liz and Chester Matthews of Charity School House Antiques in SW Missouri. These came from a 50+ year, UNBELIEVABLE collection of the FINEST Victorian Antiques in the Country.
This is a Ninth Plate with Prominent looking Man with Tinted cheeks and the decorative plate says "The Union Now And Forever.". The binding on the spine is still partially intact on the inner side.
It is very hard to get good pictures without reflections in the glass. So... I try to take several pictures from different positions.
Let me finish by saying, I have many years of experience in the Antique business, with Victorian Glassware and Furniture, but I am not an expert or even very knowledgeable on Daguerreotypes or Ambrotypes or Tintypes. I know they are very collectable and some are far more valuable than others and we have sold a lot at our auctions over the years. So, please ask any and all questions before you bid.
