Vintage 1940 ' S Hurd Caster Fishing Metal Rod & Reel Walnut Handle NR

Offered here is a HURD SUPER CASTER rod and reel with a walnut wood handle made for a limited time between 1945 and 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. After 1946 plastic was used for the handle. The production of the Super Caster manufactured by Edwin Hurd was discontinued in 1951.
The serial number on the reel is 59749. The overall length of this rod and reel is 54 1/2". The rod and reel has been used but never abused. There are no parts missing or broken. I would describe its condition to... be very good to excellent for a reel that is about 75 years old. It was my father's reel and he bought it used. My pictures are a big part of my description so study them carefully. These old Hurd reels are getting hard to find in any condition. Don't let this nice one get away.
