1936 Vintage Press Photo by ACME. Fire Hazard was added to the way flood and snow obstacles in Highway Traffic when this truck carrying 5700 gallons of gasoline caught fire between Auburn and Grass Valley, California. The driver escaped injury and as all traffic was halted some distance away. Captain Joseph Blake of the California Highway Patrol is shown shooting holes into the blazing tank to provide a gasoline outlet, speed the duration of the fire and lessen danger... of explosion.
