Original Description:
PC-Engine CORE GRAFX NEC Japanese Console PI-TG3. Condition is "Used".
All games, consoles, and collectables we have listed were lovingly and meticulously owned by a passionate, lifelong collector. All items are in Very Good condition, unless otherwise stated. Backstory Recently, I inherited my Uncle's gaming collection, which he started building in the early 70s. Through the years his collection grew into the thousands. In the mid 90s, my Uncle began suffering from a ment...al illness which inhibited his ability to play the games he lovingly collected; almost all of his collection has been in storage or for display-only for the past two decades. His main passion was with Japanese titles, specifically SHMUPS.Now that I have been given this little chunk of gaming history, I am rigorously going through the collection and learning about what I have. I feel that many of the items in this collection would be better appreciated by those who are passionate about vintage/retro gaming. I have set out to find a loving new home for my Uncle's collection, with the hope that it will bring the same amount of happiness it brought him. About the SellerI myself am an avid gamer/collector, due in no small part to my uncle. I have many fond memories of enjoying parts of this collection growing up. Unfortunately, I do not possess the time or means to carry on his legacy by keeping this collection...frankly, I don't even have the space to accommodate it haha! Because of this, I decided it would be a lot more meaningful for his life's work to be shared with others who have the same passion he did. This may seem like trivial or irrelevant information, but I am choosing to share with you so that you may understand that I mean what I say when I say that it is important to me that each and every part of the collection finds a new home, and I am genuinely grateful to all of you who show interest, or just reach out and share your collecting stories. I would like to make it clear that, while I am a game collector, I am far from a vintage video game connoisseur; I do my very best to give an honest, thorough, depiction of every item I list, so if my description is inadequate, or if there are details missing that would be considered important to a more knowledgeable collector,   please feel free to reach out to me and I will gladly give whatever information you are looking for and/or update my listing. A good portion of the games (Pre-SNES) in this collection were considered contemporary when I was a young child, or before I was even born, so I am learning about them as I go, and I appreciate any constructive, solicited advice from true vintage collectors. That being said, I put a significant amount of time into researching every item I sell so that I can give the best description possible and price these items fairly. Finally, I would like to make it transparently clear that I am NOT operating a business of any kind. I do not have inventory, what I have is a very packed, unorganized, storage unit filled with gaming treasures my uncle collected throughout the years. I can normally only pull out a couple of boxes at a time and list items as I find them. My goal is to eventually re-home every part of this collection, and I am willing to take my time doing so. I thank you for your patience, understanding, and interest!FAQs About the Collection/Items I Have Available: 1. Are the games from a smoke-free home? Yes! Most, if not all, of this collection has been in storage (via attic or storage unit) for almost 20 years. 2. Will you change your auction to Buy It Now/Are you willing to end your listing early for *X amount*?  I have decided that from now on I will not add a BIN option to a listing that did not previously start with it. Also, I am not willing to end a listing early, even if you offer a fair amount. Please do not take this personally, I just believe that everyone should have a chance at winning an auction, and I therefore do not think it is fair to end a listing early. 3. Are you going to be listing anymore *game/console name* items?  Feel free to ask me about specific games/consoles/collections, I have no issue at all answering these questions and I genuinely appreciate the interest! I am asked very often, so I figured I would make it a point to say here that I will very likely be listing more of whatever genre of game you are inquiring about. There are still MANY games in this collection for me to sort through. I go through it by no more than a box or two at a time, so collections to specific consoles tend to get split up. In the future I plan to list games for Super CD, Neo Geo MVS, SNES, NES, Famicom, X68000, Sega Genesis, PS1, PS2, Xbox, PSP, Gameboy, etc. It is a LOT to sort through, so I appreciate your patience. 4. How do you determine item condition? In order not to leave anything up to interpretation, I consider an item to be in "Very Good" condition if it has normal wear from use, storage, and/or aging (i.e. scuffs on cases/carts, faint scratches on a disc, or other superficial markings that do not affect the functionality of the item). Most of the items in my uncle's collection would fall into this category. If there is any noticeable, but insignificant wear or damage (i.e. small cracks on a jewel case, slight discoloration from age, wrinkles/fraying on a box, or scratches on a disc that are noticeable without using a light)  I will list it as in "Good" condition. If an item has significant wear (i.e. large/multiple cracks, tears, or many noticeable scratches on a disc) but is otherwise functional, I will list it in "Acceptable" condition.Obviously, if an item I have listed does not work, or has heavy damage, I will state these facts and list the item as "Not Working/For Repair" or "Poor" condition.Any "New" items I list have intact seals. Any tears in cellophane, or slight peeling (but still intact) stickers/labels, will be noted but still considered new.A "Like New" condition item has minimal-to-no wear (i.e. a single faint scratch on a disc, or very light scuffs on a jewel case). As far as manuals go, I list whether or not they are included, and I only mention condition if it is more significant (tears, heavy folds/wrinkles, stains) than normal wear from use (i.e. fraying/creases in the spine, bent corners, or small creases). I spend a significant amount of time inspecting the items I list, but I do not look at every individual page of the manuals; I normally leaf through the pages and look at the covers for damage. If there are any concerns for the condition of the manual or included extras, please feel free to message me for more a more detailed description or photos. I do not consider light dust when detailing my items. As I have stated, this collection has been in storage or on display for the better part of three decades, so many items have some degree of dust buildup. I wipe down and clean every item I sell to the best of my ability, but there are bound to be instances where I miss something. If an item you purchase from me has slight, or otherwise insignificant, buildup of dust or residue that can be easily cleaned, I will not consider this a means for a refund, partial or otherwise. To be clear, I will never intentionally send you a "dirty" game, but there is always a small possibility that there was something that I overlooked. Also, just to reiterate, I am not an expert on retro games which is what this collection consists of. When it comes to cleaning these games, since they aren't familiar to me, I stick to surface cleaning so as not to risk damaging components trying to deep clean them.  5. How do you handle shipping? First and foremost, after your item has been paid for, it is my top priority to get your property into your possession as soon as possible. While it is not a guarantee, it is my goal to have paid-for items go into the drop box within one business day. If I am unable to make it to the post office due to work, or any other reason, rest assured your item will be in the mail within the 3-day handling time. I am not responsible for any delays that occur after I have successfully given your package to post office. It is a common occurrence (for USPS specifically) that labels are not scanned properly, so if your shipping label does not update after the 3-day handling window after it was created, please contact me and I will gladly help you figure out where you package is.  As far as packaging goes, I do my best to take every precaution that your item will get to you in the condition it was in when it was packed. 6. Do you offer refunds? I do NOT accept returns and will not issue refunds. I do my best to provide very detailed item descriptions and give every opportunity for additional questions and photos so potential buyers feel as comfortable as possible with their prospective purchase. 7. What is your message response time? I highly monitor messages when I have listings active to make sure I'm available for any questions you may have and try to keep my maximum response time under 12 hours, but I do have a full time job, so I thank you for understanding if it takes me longer to respond. I will certainly get back to you within 24 hours.Item Description:The console is in Very Good, almost Like New, condition. There is minimal wear from use, I think this console was used as a display piece, because the cords and manuals inside the box are still sealed, but there was light dust on the console as if it was sitting on a shelf. The only noticeable blemish on the console is a slight scuff along the "Core Grafx" logo (shown in pictures). Tested - working. The included gamepad is in Very Good condition, with light signs of use. Tested - working. The Box is in Acceptable condition, with wear and fraying from storage. The most significant damage is a slightly crushed corned (see pictures).
