This elegant photographicTobacco card (also referred to as aCigarette Card was issued by theLONE JACK Co. of Lynchburg Virginia asan insert premium in their brands of LONE JACK AND RUBY Cigarettes &Tobacco during 1888. This card is from aScarce series of cards entitled, “ ACTRESS ” and is listed as series # N369 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue. A full list of theknown cards in the series can be found on pages 102-106 of the World Index... PartIV by the Cartophilic Society of Great Britain. Thefront of the card features a photographic image of the particular Victoriantheater actress being featured, andadvertising for Lone Jack Cigarettes. Theback is blank as they were issued. The Cards measures 2 1/2 inches by 1 3/8inches approximately. The card does have some creasing. I have scannedthe card fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself. Thisis a scarce card that has huge cross over collect-ability. Covetedby both Card collectors and those interestedin Victorian Theater (and Burlesque Theater) ..
