Extremely Rare Pax Golden View rangefinder 35mm film camera, made in Japan by Yamato in the early 1950’s. The Golden View model is very rare in itself, but even then is typically found in a green leatherette, opposed to this red/maroon version. I found a couple mentions online of this red version but I’ve never seen another photo of one. The exterior is in good condition, with some minor wear shown on the leatherette and the gold-colored plating. However, the focus is completely st...uck and the shutter does not fire properly. These are common problems as these old Yamato cameras were known to use a type of lubricant that dries out over time, so in order to make it functional it need me to be disassembled, cleaned, and properly lubricated. This beautiful camera can be repaired or shown off in a collection as is. It is reminiscent of a miniature Leica II or III with more flashy colors, measuring only about 4.25” long by 2.75” deep. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Please let me know if you have any questions, thanks!
