You are bidding on:A vintage 100' reel of b&w 16mm amateur "home movie" film shot in Egypt in the early 1940s. The man who filmed it was stationed in Heliopolis as part of U.S.M.N.A.M. (U.S. Military, Naval and Air Mission), during WWII.Written on the leader of this film is, "Alexandria, French Fleet, Stanley Bay & Bombed Buildings". You'll see shots of a woman standing by a car in the city (I believe that Mr Brandt was able to have his family in Egypt with him at the begi...nning of the war, sending them away when things heated up). Also, shots of the coastline and hotels, shots of some damaged buildings seen from the street below, domes and minarets, driving along the waterfront, fishing boats, Navy ships in the distance, they pass a Socony Vacuum gas station, people relaxing on the beach, etc.
I have not watched the film on a projector -- my photos of the film footage were taken off a small editor screen -- so please excuse the quality. Condition:The film is in good condition. I did not notice any vinegar syndrome.
