This is a very nice “Speed King No. 6” tin litho crank friction working speed boat. The 7 ¼” boat has no trade mark identification other than Made in Japan imprinted on back right topside. It has wonderful graphics, including the driver wearing red helmet and blue and yellow goggles seated in the cockpit with hands on steering wheel. Lithography includes “Speed King”, bright yellow standing lion emblem on both sides of raised bow area along w...ith lithographed running lights, checkered race flags and air and exhaust vents. The boat also features a red stabilizing fin with white stars … helps to have one in those high speed events. The colors are fabulous, bright and bold colors of red, blue and yellow. Other features include the red metal propeller and rudder. The boat is in very nice vintage used condition. There are minor scratches, abrasions, rubbings and edge wear with some missing paint. The metal crank friction shows signs of oxidation. Nothing detracts from the beauty of the boat. The crank friction works as it should. It’s a very colorful Japanese-made working vintage used friction boat you don’t see that often. It would be a very nice addition to your collection.
