4Vintage Sterling Silver Thimbles English* Hallmarked 1931-1962 All of theseEnglish thimbles are sterling silver. The thimble on the left haspartial English sterling hallmarks for Birmingham 1931 and the maker'smarkfor Henry Griffith & Sons. It has a wide rim and daisy band andisabout an American size 7-8 (14.8 mm diameter opening). The nextthimble has a rimmed band and the hallmarks for Birmingham 1962. Ithas the maker's mark for James Swan & Son ...and isabout anAmerican size 6 (14 mm diameter opening). Thenext thimble has a plain rim/band and all over Daisy knurling. It isstamped "Sterling Silver" and "Made in England" andisalso about an American size 6. The thimble on the right is plain andthe rim isonly stamped "Sterling. It'sabout anAmerican child's size 4 (12.5 mm diameter opening).These last two would have been made for export. All 4thimblesare in excellent condition with no holes, dents, repairsorotherdamage.
