BATTERY OPERATED MUSICAL JOLLY CHIMP VINTAGE TOY 1960 ' S JAPAN GREAT

For your consideration is a great example of the battery operated Musical Jolly Chimp, made by Daishin C.K. in Japan during the 1960's. He comes complete with his original box. Requires two "D" size batteries to operate. When switched on, he vigorously plays the cymbals and makes quite a bit of noise as his head moves up and down. When you press and release the button on top of his head, the cymbal playing stops, his eyes bulge out, he shows his teeth, chatters and makes squealing nois...es, then goes back to playing the cymbals. Cosmetically, there is some minor discoloration on the back of his pants (likely from old glue or the metal underneath) around the on/off switch and what looks like a smear of something that possibly clung to the pants when they were glued? Not really sure. The battery area is pristine and the contacts are clean. The original box remains solid with a little shelf wear and a tear along one side that was tape repaired from the inside.
