This stunning cathedral window quilt was made in the 1940s in rural Virginia. It was all done by hand, which is amazing considering the amount of work that goes into this type of quilt. The quilter was very skilled and this is a showpiece. The colors are bright and vivid like stained glass windows and really pop against the background, and the design is timeless. It measures 78 x 66 so it’ll fit a full or double mattress, or cover the top of a queen size bed. It doesn’t appear to h...ave been used much because of the amazing condition. The fabric is bright and strong with no fading of colors. There are a couple of places where the color bled a little, very minor, which I tried to capture in pics. I only saw 2 places where the stitching was loose, also pictured, but there may be more—this is a complicated design with lots and lots of piecework. It’s freshly cleaned and ready to be used.
