Beautiful old oak (ribbon oak) grain. Totally refurbished (see the last picture). Swivel mechanism had rusted shut. Chair has been cleaned, sanded, stained, finished and the cane seat has been replaced. It is not perfect so please look carefully at the pictures. I have installed the old wooden wheels however if I get to it, I will put in modern wheels because they will turn and pivot better.
While the chai...r is sturdy for normal use, I suggest that you not lean back to test it's strength, and otherwise try to see how it handles anything other than normal to light use.It is functional, but if you want to constantly lean back and then push off the desk to see how far it can go, well, this is not the chair for you. It's for someone who, like me, just couldn't stand to see that lovely old oak turned into landfill. Price factors in the condition of the chair.
